A lovely piece of Wych Elm given to me by the very generous Terry (The Chairman). Thanks Terry.

Although Terry is every inch a fine figure of a man, I think the PC term is chairperson these days init?
Nice pen but then it would be if the wood came from the chairperson, and was turned and finished by the doc init?

Here we go let's have a debate:
I was a member of an Gentleman's organisation which shall remain nameless, that was forced to accept wimin members.
Not only did it have to accept them but had to show equal opportunities by electing to the board more than a token of the gender.
A female was soon elected as chairman of the board and protest at the title chairman insisting that it should be changed to chairperson.
After much red tape and voting she settled for the title of Lady chairman or Mrs chairman.
The now Lady chairman or Mrs chairman is a Mr init?
I wonder what they address him as??

I guess that it would be Mr Mrs Chairman wouldn't it?

Wait a minute.... don't you also have to be a gentleman to be in a gentleman's club? :funny:

Still love the pen, is Wych Elm easy to turn?

Ray

I've had a variety of qualities of Wych Elm Ray, its all relatively easy to turn but some has holes that need to be filled. To do this I turn it until its only needs sanding and then put a drop of thin ca in the hole. while its still wet I sand it moving the sand paper from dry wood to the wet wood so that the dust gathers, mixes with the glue and fills the hole. I've had a lot of good success using this method
