This timber is very very soft with hard rings so you need sharp tools & very little sanding.
Finished with Craft coat.

Well done on turning Wellingtonia not the best wood to turn as you pointed out about how soft it is. The grain still looks great along with the finish Bill.

You and I have compared notes on wellingtonia before on another forum Bill. Hats off to you. I do know how difficult it is to work with and to get a good finish on. A really fantatic result.

Certainly grown in a wet climate hence the hard soft timber with these I paper more toward the finish beats the problem every time. Nice pewn.

That is lovely Bill, this is new wood to me as well, you've made a fantastic job of it but the anti-freeze is leaking from it :funny:
