Well you have seen the WIP on this bowl and now for the finished bowl which measures 13" X 8 1/2" and 3 1/2" tall.When the finish has hardened I will give it a wax

What i want to know is how do you sand it, apart from very carefully. A beautiful piece indeed.

As you say very carefully and certainly not with the lathe turning except the very centre I mounted a small disc pad in my cordless drill and sanded through the grits down to 400grit it did take a little time but worth doing it. Luckily I managed a good finish straight off of the tool so started with 180grit.

Cracker Derek, thats is stunning, love the thickness. I've never tried end grain, you've set a high bar.:drool::drool::drool:
