Heres a pen made from a length of Yew Jim kindly gave me when I started out,only got round to using it today...turned with Woodies tool,finished with 600 grit Abranet then friction polish and ren wax

Lovely pens, the Elm is still as gorgeous as it was in the other photo :devil:

The top of the Yew pen looks to be gloss while the lower barrel looks satin, did you do that for effect?

No,I just double checked and it seems the finish has dulled compared to when it was on the late :sob:

Well don yew, a lovely pen Matty but the top does look glossier than the bottom. The elm looks as good as last time, beautiful!

Thanks Jim,still hit and miss with Yew though,can't seem to get a consistent finish on it...pics are turning out good now,took on my conservatory with a 16MP digital camera then cropped
