Yew knife and pen

Been making this for a few days.

Blade is 440C,high carbon stainless.

Liners are 0.8mm Vulcanized fiber and the pins are 4mm mosaics.

Made a matching pen out of Yew aswell.

Thanks guys,I do get a good price for these although all of them have been for friends so I am doing them as 'mates rates',the money is enough for me to want to make more and have a tidy profit at the end :wink:

Total length is 197mm Goulls,with a 90mm blade!

Thanks guys...I didn't take any pictures of the sharpening process before packing it up.

Basically I use a 120 grit stone to start with,this removes all the factories rather harsh grind lines and sets a good,consistent bevel on both sides (17 deg,34 inclusive) then I use 400,800,1200,1500,2000 and 3,000 grit stones and finish up on a piece of leather with cutting compound,the end result is a perfectly flat,mirror polished,razor sharp bevel..similiar to the one on my folder:
