Hi All,

My first attempt at using a ring core.

Vic kindly put up a link to a UK supplier of ring cores a few weeks ago. The owner is a member here, Phildarv

I got the stainless steel type in three different widths. They are very smooth and have a good feel to them.

Here is a vid of me using the 4mm. With more practice I will get better results.

Thanks for that I have just ordered some ring cores with a view to having a go. I have also ordered some Whitby jet that I'm hoping to make a ring from. Cheers.

Rings are sought after so the thought of a timber bone should appeal. I would think that burl timber rather than cross grain would be ever so better as stable to use.. The result is neat.

Not much monetary return for these. cost of core plus time doesn't make them viable to sell on.

But they do make great gifts for family and friends.
