Realised now I should have bought the Drill with 80mm depth.

Difficult - the kit looks like a narrow parallel-sided shape would look better but then you might lose the contrasting colours on the grain. IMHO it's not the nicest looking kit, the top seems un-balanced to me somehow. Without the top it looks great!

I understand why they made the magnetic cap in that shape and why the pen has to have that finial for it to post.
I still think it s one ugly design and cannot change my views having seen it now too many times.
Lovely bit of Yew and the best of a bad thing with it.
Only my opinion but I only matter to me init?

I got some of those kits when Aminster first started selling them and that was the last ever a mistake never to be repeated but you have turned and finished the wood to perfection so you can be forgiven for making the same mistake LOL

I started with a drill with only 50mm travel. What a pain in the @rse for drilling pens. Soon upgraded to 80mm travel. Nice turning by the way, shame about the kit.
