I'm not sure. I'd expect it to darken a bit to a more orange/red/brown. This was from a scrap of yew plank that I had in the shed. I'd planed it back a bit to make a wood burning plaque for someone and this came from the off cuts. It does look quite 'fresh' in colour, but then it's been hidden in the depths of the shed out of direct sunlight for years.
