The problem with timber is you think you've seen a species then a piece of wood comes along & completely changes your view of that species.


I like Hornbeam but it's a fairly boring timber re grain, then last week I came across some spalted Hornbeam & I think it's possibly the nicest spalted timber I've ever seen & I certainly didn't think I'd be saying that the week before, plus it's native & I do like the idea of knowing where my timber came from.
