At present I use a Men's Shed to gain access to a Bandsaw for cutting my blanks. Probably on wood blanks I probably use a fine woodsaw.
However I was wondering what if I was cutting Acrylic blanks what could I use at home. Currently I have been at home from end of September as I keep coming out in a rash. Don't know if it's a heat rash or something else......

May I suggest a hacksaw?

I used that until I had access to a bandsaw.
AND. cover up including gloves if you think acrylic is causing you problems

I use a japanese pull saw with a fairly coarse blade 18tpi I think ? but it has triple ground teeth so cuts on pull and push. Take your time and it cuts beautifully straight in wood or acrylic

Thanks Mike i will give that a go. Don't wear gloves while cutting was told was to dangerous. However after cutting I wear gloves to sand and apply the the polish etc. Same for wood it was recently I was looking through some wood blanks for a pen and wasn't sure if maybe one was possible that I could get an allergic reaction from....

Thanks have been looking at lidl recently as they had Japanese saws in a few months back. But I haven't seen them nor the magnetic strips to hold tools etc for a long while....

they are worth waiting for but the Bear brand ones, although expensive ( and frustratingly Bl@@dy fragile ) are wonderful to use. I’m on my 5th new blade over 20 years!
