My First attempt at this sort of pen. Gradually expanding my horizons. I used a lovely blank of spalted beech and The Cassic Elite Fountain Pen Kit. I had to turn off 1/8" from the top blank. I fond I didn't have a parting tool small enough to do this job. A quick hunt around my carving tools...

Just finished this one today made from Beech and measures 5" X 4". I had the pyrography machine last November as a Birthday present and have not used it that much, so it was a learning curve for me not just in its use but making my own curly wire shape.

Made this one the same day, spalted beech, 28 cm dia and 6,5 cm high. Finished with foodsafe oil.

Last turned platter from spalted beech, just fine sanded but no finish on it yet. Depends of the final use, melamine or food safe finish. Diameter is 290 mm and 50 mm high.

Inspired in part by the work of Richard Kennedy. Not a tree though, just a series of interconnecting Y's drawn freehand and pierced and burnt. Beech 9" x 1" finished in Acrylic gloss lacquer.

Hi All! Very new to this - my first slimline pens... in tulip, iroko & beech. The beech one is slightly fatter as my mother-in-law needs a thicker pen to be able to hold ok. Finished in microcrystalline wax... wanted a "wood" finish.
