    Yew with a fish

This Omega is a gift for a Church friend, hence the fish, which got a wee bit lopsided.

    I need advice

I have been trying to buy a bench disc sander and decided on the Record Power DS 300. Most of the mail order companies either don't ship to N Ireland or want £70 for delivery. ( Thank you Brexit for that ) One company seems to do free delivery but the web page looks a bit iffy to me. It's...

Hi all, Just a bit of a giggle, Those that know me know I work in a school..... Yesterday I found 8 old chisels, I thought I could clean them up, a bit of a sharpen.... Job done. Now as its a school I thought I should only offer to sharpen the odd chisels in DT whilst I have my Sorby set...

    Watermelon

A bit of fun this one. I wanted to make a summer pen and, as today is our annual day of sunshine here in Wales, I thought it was a good time to make it. The green skin is made from acrylic and I cast the red fleshy part myself. I’m pleased at how well it came out. I does resemble the texture...

Ebony pen with a bit of orange pearl and ivory (how could I not?) coloured acrylic . It has a cellulose acetate section and cap threads, which are 13mm Ø. I've mentioned before that I had developed a "splat" logo during lockdown, and this pen has a sterling silver logo coin in the cap end plus...

    Thuya burr and cellulose

I’ve fallen a bit in love with this wood. It’s really pippy which makes it look beautiful but it’s also very sound with very few holes. I’ve used some tortoiseshell cellulose acetate for the threads and the section. It’s a 13mm cap with a Bock 6 nib. Cheers Ash

    Italian Acrylic and Wood

I have really liked this colour blank from the moment I got it but couldn't work out what to do with it. So I finally decided to pair it with Thuya burl. Nothing too complicated here. The section is a bit of work but I have shown that before I think. Also getting the logo coin to fit nice and...

    Turned Resin Dip Pen

Hi everyone, well I finally got my lathe up and running, so thank you to everyone who gave me pointers on where had them in stock. After a couple of trial pens, I turned this one, I wish that I had been a bit braver and turned it a little thinner, but I’ll remember next time. Hand cast alumilite.

    Single tube ball points

There are several that fall into this category of pens. I used to make and sell the “Executive Clicker Pen” from Timberbits, but it got a bit uneconomical when TNT sharpened up their customs act. This retails at Aus$9.90 which is currently £5.63. It works well and used to be a reasonable seller...

    Blanking

As you can imagine my usual main income teaching turning has been a bit sparse recently. I did sell a record amount of gift vouchers last year and have more people booking courses now that actually want to take up turning as a hobby, so things are probably going to get a bit mental once...

    My Irish Pen

I have not stayed current here as life in the USA has gone bonkers. But this is special to me and I wanted to share it. I have had a nice exchange of messages with Alan Morrison for a bit now and we occasionally exchange materials. I was blessed with some Irish Elm and Irish Bog Oak and...
