Fresh from the lathe... box from black locust, lid from mapple. Still some work on it for the finish

Made this to enter the pen box competition on IAP but I missed the deadline. Made of Poplar (it's a prototype) based on a scaled up .50 caliber round. Step drilled 5/8 and 1 1/8. It's made for the bolt action. No finish just Beall buffed.

This is my reward for equal First in the previous competition. I phoned Davey to thank him and I chose Centre Rings for Streamline pen kits. Arrived ten minutes ago in my mail box, So many thanks Davey, great to talk to you as well. My entry below. Kind regards Peter.

A Bimble Box Burr Tempest in Upgrade Gold. Finished with sanding sealer after sanding to 600 then 4 coats of Melamine and buffed.

Box Elder Burl been hardened thank goodness, I like the red flashes with the black spalting. Peter.
