It's taken me a lot longer than I thought it would to make these pens. It's the first time I've turned Thuya burr and I found while it's a beautiful wood to look at and handle ( when finished) it's quite a waxy material. It sticks to chisels also clogs up sandpaper so so very fast

I turned a Leveche rollerball using a Brown Mallee Burr blank. I used epoxy to glue the blank to the tube and after bringing into the house for a couple of days cracks appeared along some of the burr lines. I finished it using Phil's melamine technique.
Any advice to prevent this much...

I nice piece of Mallee burr from Phil to make this one. Size 5 Bock nib.
I went with a 12mm cap thread on this one to give it a go with 10mm section thread.
I will be going for a slimmer version next time as my confidence grows.
Chestnut burr I have been working on. Stained with spirit stains and a gloss finish the edge is gilded with a chemically treated brass leaf giving the edge a brass copper look some little parts show the natural edge through the guiding adding to the piece.
