After making the half track I needed to do something simple so I have just finished this bowl made from Chestnut burr and measures 9" X 4 1/2" Finished with a food safe oil/Mineral oil and then woodwax 22 paste and hand buffed. This is following on from my question To burn or not to burn
This weeks Pen of the Week chosen by Bill Mooney is the Omega RB in Alder Burr made by GeordieB.
Bill said "I've looked at some cracking pens this week and the decision has not been an easy one but the one I keep coming back to is GeordieB's alder burr.

A horsechestnut Burr bowl 380mm diameter x 80mm deep. The blank was given to me by my good friend Basil. It is finished in citrus oil & buffed with a cactus thorn brush. Don't want a gloss on this one as reflections can hide the nice grain.
These Artisan Cigars are spalted Maple and Maple burr. Both are stabilized. The burr was stabilized with black dyed Cactus Juice. 4 coats of thin ca sanded back and buffed.
