This was a little out of the norm for me – the clip was a different style that I had been playing with and it became the basis for a series of others. Shown here with a DiamondCast “Silver Series” blank (@McKenziePenworks) with a black resin section and trim, nickel clip and accent rings, and...
A quick finish up yesterday. This was originally destined as a present for a friend who put us up last summer but during sanding I noticed the material had a hairline crack about 3mm from the end into the blank, so I presented her with a Zeta in cobalt amethyst acrylic instead. I could have...
I am hoping to make this pen as a "basic standard model" in the upcoming months. In this instance, the turnings (body, cap and finial) are acrylic with an ebonite section, Bock #5 nib and bronze pocket clip. This was my first clip in bronze - sort of fun stuff. I have twelve of these lined up...
Pen is finished in Olive using melamine and wax. Orange and black resin off cuts this time for centre bands, cabochoun and pen clip. I am finding the pen clip insert the most difficult to make as I am holding it in one hand and using files, sandpaper and micromesh. Resin is really flexible due...
Custom pen similar to my last. This is my first attempt at making the pocket clip, so I purchased only the Bock #5 nib, Beaufort converter, and Beaufort Scots Pine ink to test it. There are flaws, but this was the trial that told me that it's not beyond my grasp. This one features a McKenzie...
I like to do a bit of drawing so I thought I'd turn a mechanical pencil. It is turned from lime, the centre part which I have coloured and I think the darker wood is African blackwood. The kit is from Prokraft and I left the clip off because I think the shape looks better without it.
Thanks for...

A Leveche Chrome plated Fountain pen.
Made using double dyed & stabilised Burr timber of unknown origin.

Hi All.
Well they don't always go to plan. Didn't get the catch on video I'm afraid.
I have put the Rollester clip on the cap. Now I will try a closed end turning and still keep the clip.

Another commission. The customer didn't want a clip that looked kike a gun - I can't say I blame him - so some may remember I was asking around a while ago about bullet pens that the clip could be removed. Between us, the customer and I eventually plumped for an Over and Under (its a PSI kit...
Yet another driftwood pen, where I used red and blue dyes, giving a slightly purple-ish tint, fading into natural towards the clip. Love to see what appears as I turn these blanks - always a surprise!
Does anyone know of a lock n load bullet kit where the clip is not a fixture - in other words I want to be able to assemble the pen but omit the clip. (yes, I know - but the customer is always right). All the kits I know of have their clips moulded into the finial, so they are non starters.
First one of the Blind Veterans UK pens. The pans were donated by Dan & the blanks were donated by Scott.
I'm not sure where to put the clip so you can see the badge.

In my quest to make pens without kits, this is my second go at it. This one is Cumberland ebonite with black ebonite trim and section. The nib is a Bock #5 in gold plate with Beaufort reservoir. The clip is also gold plate. (It also is from...
Ive have a request by a potential customer to make a very specific and simple style of pen. (See image). I would like to take the order but the problem is the clip. Has anyone made one like this? My though was to go to a local crafts person who makes jewellery, but I suspect cost is going to be...
My first Shakespeare RB dressed in Yew Burr donated by Mike Kennedy.
Alex let me know my clip wasn't fitted properly but it is now. Thanks Alex.
I think I need to go to Specsavers.:funny:
Hi all
I hope someone can point me in the right direction......
One of my family friends has asked if I could make them a pen for their golfing hobby.
Knowing the individual, I don't think just replacing the standard clip with a golf club clip on a slimline pen will do, as they like a heavier...
A Chrome plated Zeta with Stabilised & Double dyed unknown timber,
I have added a Caduceus clip and will buff it to merge the epoxy resin later.
just made it to show someone the clip .
