Took this singed tree down a couple of months ago. The guys garden shed workshop burnt down and this tree was growing next to it. Turned green and left to move this little pot is 3 1/4" across the oval and 2 3/4" high.
Aint wood good?
Have been promising to sort some seats for the garden and have finally sorted it so hopefully I have plenty of credits to my name!!
maybe even enough for a pressure pot!!! we will see. Or at least a bandsaw ?
Eventually got a pot sorted for pressure casting.
Now to work out the needed fixtures and fittings and try out the benefits of casting under pressure! Oh and find a nice quiet compressor!
Advise please.
I picked up a second hand pressure pot at the weekend, similar to Resin Model Moulding Casting Tank 10Litre.
A quick test. I pressurised to 4 bar, about 60psi. 4 hours later it was down to 2 bar, and now 24 hours later 0. I know no pressure pot is 100% sealed so there must be a...
Hey all
I've been having so much fun mixing with alumilite I thought I'd have a go with some heavy glitters and large foil objects about 3mm big hearts
It seems it doesn't matter how long I leave the resin to gell they sink to the bottom or introduce too much air for the pot to get rid of

Hi All.
I came across these on the IAP forum. They have just been released and I'm hoping that we will start to hear how these perform in the pressure pot.
Anyone here ordered them yet?
I do like the idea of the silicon stoppers, I just hope they will not let resin past whilst under pressure...
Just finished this small pot. I turned it then relief carved the flowers and then added some pyrography texturing to give it some contrast.
Thanks for looking

Turned a small lidded box from lime and burnt a shoal of fish on it. The lid is inserted so that it doesn't break up the image on the side of the pot. The size is 3 inches x 3inches.

Wanted to have a go at making something small so I turned this little pot from tulip wood then ebonised it with Chestnut spray. My wife thinks it is cute.

I had some bits of timber left over from making our dining room table, so i cut and glued them up for a bowl. It seemed ok but now i'm not sure if it's a bowler hat or a piddle pot.
It's mahogany and oak ( i think)
Don't know why the pictures they came out that way as the originals are not...
I made another needle pot but this time I thought I'd give my pyrography iron a rest and attack it with some stains.
I am so pleased with the result I've tried it on a pen.
Ill stick the pictures of the pen on the wooden pens forum.
Thanks for looking, George
Hi all,
Quick question for those that use pressure pots for casting.
I already have a Mini compressor, that I used for small airbrushing, and it is rated at max 50PSI with 21l per min air displacement.
I was thinking of getting this pot which has a max rating of 80PSI (although they recommend...
I have just completed a needle pot decorated with pyrography. I wanted to try a couple of different finishes to see how they compared. The finish on the lid of the pot is melamine gloss, sprayed from a rattle can. I didn't enjoy the process even with the windows open. The body is finished with...
Hi all,
This is another resin that has been mentioned in another thread, so I decided to give it a go and I think it is great.
The Polytek that I have been using is good but the very short pot life is not good.
Opti cast has a 11 minute pot life which is great. It also finishes well going...
I'm calling this a needle pot, but I will probably keep tooth picks in it. My lack of turning experience shows, but I enjoyed doing the pyrography. I finished it with CA, but will try melamine on my next effort.

Need some advice- after reading through many posts I had myself convinced to buy a pressure pot and compressor to have a go at casting, but then I read that many are casting polyester without pressure? Can I cast polyester coloured with powders without pressure pot?
I would really like to make...
