Well after being on a downer, having to go to Plymouth for a funeral I have finally removed my head from my @£$3 and been in shed bit of a tidy up!!
Then down to pens prepped 2 wooden and 1 acrylic blanks with sons help.

What have you all been doing this week and what are plans for the rest of the weekend.
Well the shed had to wait as my wood store up the top of the garden developed a leak so yesterday done a temporary repair so that when the better weather arrives I can replace the roof completley or even...
I gave a 1000 dollar bench saw to a smallish mens shed,a beaut 5 feet cylinder compressor,a special micrometer set up for a router bench, A solid bearing press etc. Four guys came over and did the heavy lifting. I had taken off the 3 phase motor on the saw, They found a single phase and...
I would like to say that I have not been very active over the last week, in the shed that is.
This is due to having my dear mum in hospital she is 94. The good news is she has now been let home today and sounds very upbeat.
So I now need to get back into the shed and complete my latest project.
Well yesterday I took a day off of making sawdust and I can tell you it has knocked me for six, so much that today I am taking a day of rest from the shed as I would not be happy playing with power tools.
And here is why I took yesterday off.
Im having an issue with an ebonite section I turned- basically is has swelled / expanded and I suspect its from being left in my car in the heat? Can anyone shed any light in this? (It has expannded to the extent that the cap will not now go on.
I have been suffering a cough for about a year and now awaiting results of a chest xray.I am now wondering if its caused by turning my pens and would like to know if others have developed cough.(I only turn pens)

Well even with the chip extractor running when I am turning I seem to spend 3 times as long clearing up after a turning session only to go out to the shed the following day to start all over again.
Oh well that is the life of a hobby turner:rolling:
Hi all
This is my patch of ground for my new shed to go
It is aprox 16x9so I'm thinking a 10x8 shed that will give me 6 feet in front of the door of open space where
in the summer I can do things out side when the sun is out.
If I put my lathe on a mobile unit I can wheel it out side ??
Do...
Well like all plans about getting into the shed to do some turning and finish off cutting the blanks and sealing them. I had forgotten that we were meant to have the great-grandson who at the mention of shed grabs his bag of toy tools and follows me out there. So I did manage to sort out my...

Hi
Recently I have been gifted a 10'x12' Only (6' tall) steel shed. My intention is to raise it to 7' and line the inside with 3"x2" batons. An electrician friend is going to put in plug sockets etc.
Would plaster board be suitable to line the inside or would it just soak up moisture? I have...
The other day I had a fall, thinking nothing of it and just part of what has happened the other week with my leg I thought I was on the road to recovery and soon be heading back into the shed. Well that came to an end today my poor foot is now black and blue and painful, so off to the hospital...
Due to health problems this is the first pen that I have turned in a while. The blank is a Conway Stewart blank and finished with Farecla profile 300 and 500.
