I have just a weeks in Gods waiting room, after having an other stroke, this time it has left me with my right side with just about no use to me at all, on top of that I have try and think of the words look in my mind before I try and pit them onith paper. But will keep on till I get the use...
I turned a Celtic twist pen today using callipers to size it as I did not have the bushes for it.
I actually like the turn, size is spot on.
My problem is with the lathe, I had it on the highest speed with the 5 pulleys and I noticed that one side, on one end of the blank, sticks out.
When you...
Made a Celtic pen using callipers once again, I struggle so much getting the measurements of the blanks spot on :sob:
This pen is plagued with problems, one of them just makes no sense what's so ever to me.
One end of the blank is level with the tip whilst the other end goes over to one side...
Another pen made from vintage cellulose. This one has a number 5 Bock nib as the material was a little on the slim side and I couldn’t get a cap out if it that would be big enough to take a no6.

Hello
I'm looking for slimline pen clips that show over & under or side by side shotguns not rifles. I know there are kits with shotguns, I have used them but I want clips for 7 mm kits, any help? Bill
THis is my first effort in wood colouring so I thought I would aim for something simple. I bought a 12 x 2 blank from Axminster. It sat in the workshop for weeks before I could start it.
When I finally started it I attached the face plate but again had to put it to one side as time was limited...
Hi guys,
Been trying to contact pencrafts.co.uk with no avail. Are they still trading?
The "contact me" button sends you to a 403 page, so internet problems on their side.
I have even found their email address and sent a mail to them, still no answer.
Any thoughts,
Kelvin
Ive decided to have a go at making some rings using stainless steel ring cores as the base. So Ive managed to make one successfully, but it now appears that was a fluke! Problem is I'm struggling to form the hole in my wood blank to take the ring core and the issue is that no matter what I try I...
A present from Steven AKA SKIPRAT IMHO one of the finest penmakers. THe 1/2 inch open ended spanner was cut from a flat bar of stainless steel, with my initials engraved on the other side.
With the leather pouch came a pen Labelled for Wilma also incredible. Guess who is a very happy couple.
Peter.
Hi all
This is my patch of ground for my new shed to go
It is aprox 16x9so I'm thinking a 10x8 shed that will give me 6 feet in front of the door of open space where
in the summer I can do things out side when the sun is out.
If I put my lathe on a mobile unit I can wheel it out side ??
Do...
I said i would say what their event was like on another post.
There was just one guy doing any turning and he was causing the card readers for purchases to keep dropping out so it did make a bit of a queue to form but nothing serious.
On the up side the shop was huge, it was full of things that...
One for you to see the differences of the kit and the differences (in my opinion) of the acrylic and cellulose sanding sealer.
This is not a scientific test and was just a botch up in my cave.
I turned two pieces of spalted Hornbeam wood, off the same piece of wood (side by side) so you would...
Well number two is now finished again made in Oak.
This one has the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders badge. Have added a picture of the two side by side
