I think I know who the landowner is, Frankie. Might pop past and see what his plans are. To be honest I'm not sure I have storage space for much more, but like young Alex I'm don't seem to be able to help myself!
Umm, If its obvious that is felled as a clearing and not as a supply of logs then I wouldn't worry about it, but if its been felled for logs then that's different. Either way though you should ask the land owners permission and I bet they would say its OK. That log doesn't look like its been felled for timber. I'm forever picking up bits and pieces myself while out walking the dog on the Strawberry Line and picked up a cracker of a log yesterday (1 of 4) that had been cut up to keep a pathway clear after it had fallen over a while ago. I cut up about 1/2 of this log last night into blanks and they're currently drying on the Aga.
The blanks in the basket behind the one I picked up yesterday is full of Thatchers Cider blanks drying which I cut up on Sunday and are just about dry. I have their permission to take this.
They some times leave it to make a habitat for bugs and insects
David, I've got the CMM to make you a cake... just in case.
I knew that I would get dragged into this somehow !!!!! LOL
