Hi all - Jim asked about my CNC machine a couple weeks ago so took these pics for the forum. I made it myself (currently on the second evolution) and the start-up cost was not much more than £300. I've since spent a further £500 on improving and stiffening, so I can now mill ally on it without too much deflection. If this kind of thing interests you go to Build your CNC on the web. It's a very comprehensive site and gives you all you need to build one. Buy your electronics from China over the web because it's SOOOO much cheaper.
Again, it's addictive. I'd like to add a fourth axis so I can mill cylindrical objects (like Pens!) and I'd like to do 3d printing, and I'd like a laser cutter conversion, and ... and ... and ...
Any questions feel free to ask.
