Here is a selection of fountain pens i've been making recently, alphas and jr gents

1 Spalted Beech or sycamore i can't remember.
2 african blackwood jr gent,
3 walnut alpha changed to fountain pen

Looks well turned, but the finish looks a bit rough on the African Blackwood and Walnut.

Yeah led I agree. I finish with cancer which looks great. But, for some reason I've been trying friction polish on top of the ca and a lot of types it ends up streaky or smudged. I think I'm just gonna stick with the ca.

For the three of your pens I see merit in them Stephen the appearance is determined for us how you light the pens. Some finishes on CA are deceiving in the hand. Buffing can help.

Like your pens the paler timber has rich detail in the grain.
