Hi all below is a pair of Omega pen tubes in my gun stock walnut..these have had a quick coat of friction polish and i will clean and CA tomorrow...
The question is....what colour fittings should i use...i thought gun metal, but this may make them very dark....likewise i am not sure about silver being too bright...

Chrome but the easiest way to choose is to place the various kits alongside the timber and it will stand out random guesses notwithstanding.

Mark,

Got a couple of questions for you, why have you taken these off the mandrel mid process? Why have you coated them with friction polish if you intend to give them a ca finish?

Hi Neil,
I dont know why i do but i just turn each part seperate then finish seperatly...i also like to turn the blanks on the bushes...as to the friction finish, i have had oil issues in the past with this walnut and the CA has de laminated so i give a coat of fp as a seal, i will wipe it with solvent then CA.
