I also like the idea of the watch parts :thinks::thinks:

I've bought some watch parts on ebay and haven't got round to them yet. I bought 10g that I didn't think would be a lot but it is, I just need a watch face now that I'll order right now, now that you've reminded me.

OH, I need a press as well to shape them to the tube, I knew there was something else :thinks:

I haven't tried it yet, but I was thinking of a wooden dowel or even some Silver Steel to bend round, hope fully by hand.
I was thinking :thinks: if I tubed a pen blank and cut this in half, about an inch long, then got a piece of silver steel slightly smaller.
If I put a watch part across the pen blank, rested the silver steel on it and then used the pillar drill to gently ease it to shape, it should work :thinks: :nooidea:

I just did one by hand over a 7mm tube Don and it now fits the Sierra tube exactly .... but... that is how the CMM thinks and that way I don't get any new toys :funny:

My Alumilite arrived today 2 x 16oz packs. It sounds a lot but you don't get that uch for your money.

Just waiting for the Resin Saver Moulds to arrive from Timberbits.

What kit do you intend to use with the watch parts Paul. I should imagine it has to be something beefy

The first one will be a Sierra Vic because thats the only one I've got the moulds for. I too have ordered more but when they arrive, who knows?

Just out of interest, having seen Derek s thread on moulds can Alumilite be used with plastic piping you can get from B&Q? The 3/4 overflow pipe specifically? :thinks:

I think it has to be polythene pipe Ray.

Good to see so much interest in casting on the forum at the moment,I want to have a go myself but a little apprehensive about whats needed & how to go about it, so all this is very helpful :thinks::thinks:
