A log I picked up while walking my daughter home from pre-school the other day. It's either deciduous or very punky, as the texture is quite powdery. The spalt is pinkish to purplish. Any guesses?

Only convinces me more that it is definitely wood and that bark almost ensure that it came from a tree David.
