I've seen bowls made with these, I'm not sure what they are called, but basically, they are hollowed out and a decorative plate is put on top. You put that pot puree, smelly stuff in. G&S are 4 mins drive away from me. Shaun is a really nice lad, but some of his prices can be a bit keen.

Just put them into the wood pile and at some stage you will need a small blank and at least you will have one and not have to use a bigger one which will be a waste. I have a collection from 4" upwards some I have no idea what to turn from them but I will one day.

Oh Gosh. Any number of forms Kevin. As Derek suggests, not every piece of wood needs to be turned straight away. Sometimes it's best to stash it away until the right project comes to mind. But if excitement overcomes you, the best advise I can give you is don't be fooled into thinking that because it's relatively small, you need to make a certain something. Think big, then scale it down. A big bowl or platter can look great when it's scaled down to a miniature version - just be aware that wall thickness will make or break a design at that size.

As others have said, if you haven't got room in your wood store you could use it as a door stop for a while.. that's if its heavy enough..
