I brought a couple of the Axminster 30 Pen Display Cases. At £13.50 I think they are a decent buy

Heaps of oportunities cant tell whats inside Woodies buy but both seem ok. Some times Vics purchase has strange chemicals that can effect the plating and the small bands can mark the pens mostly safe when you close this one of Vics it looks like there is enough clearance between pens and if so it gives a beaut impression when open. To discourage fumbling fingers from Joe or Joan public is fun when selling from them. The open plastic racks are easier to see if one is missing. Just some observations.

I have 2 of the 30 size and 1 of the 48, (48s only suitable for slimlines really). I find them ok but be careful of the carry handles as they're held on by very small screws and not all that secure IMO

I have one of these cases as well very good value for money compared to some cases

Looks nice. Is there enough space to fit a button click sierra Vic?
Phil the sierra click is a touch too long to sit neatly. About 5mm ends up resting on the padding

Yes, they are a great buy and look so much better than the page type cases.

Couldn't say Phil, that's a pen that I have not done.

They measure 146mm end to end, and its the longest kit I've come across, so if it'll take that it'll take anything. I've always avoided these cases because I've read they come up a bit short, but I may be confusing it with a different one, so I'd be really interested to know.

I have the folder ones like Woody has. I store my pens in the cases and put them out on stands when I go to shows. The others you could simply turn up and open the case on a stand I guess. Both are good

Phil, I have measured the case and the internal width available for pens is 140 mm. I have heard of this problem before of other members in relation to larger pens. In looking at the construction of the box it would be quite easy to modify and gain the 6 mm required for the larger pen

Nope, your right Phil, they don't fit the longer pens, and after a while the elastic gets slack and as you fold them closed the pens slide down and obstruct the hinges when you go to close them. I've got six, on a couple the plastic trays have come out despite my best endeavours to glue them back in, the elastic has stretched on all and they're not quite long enough. Having said that I've given them a real hammering but they only lasted a year and a half.

I can see where Neil is coming from with regards to the strenght of the boxes. As he rightfully said they won't take that much of a hammering! But concidering that Neil managed to get 18 months out of them doing the amount of fairs etc that he does I think mine should be good for at least the next 10 years or so !
