The kits aren't to price and in the sale are not bad at all really.

Interestingly the offer is "available while stocks last or until 31st July". I wonder if that means they won't be stocking these particular kits again once their stocks have been sold :thinks:

Empress Pens:
Fountain Pen: £6.47
Roller Ball Pen: £6.20
Which makes £12.67.

But if you buy them as a set:
Roller ball & Fountain Kit: £16.94

Must be something wrong with my math... or age, again.

Do you know if the Empress Fountain Pen Kit is any good

Vic

I bought some of these last week Vic and surprisingly they've changed them so that the cartridge fits now so while they're a bit blingy, they do catch the eye and seem to be of a reasonable quality.

You do need a large pen blank for them though.

Looks like it might be, same drills etc.

Anyone confirm?

I bought some of the double pen boxes as they are big enough to fit the empress and Axminsters executive fountain pen if you lay them with the clip to the side..as its a big pen!

The Double Pen Boxes work out really cheap when you buy 10. Also get your order up to £50 and it's free postage.

I have only made empress and executive fountain pens so have nothing to compare them with but I thought they were good??

That sounds like a good recommendation to me

Looking through this site, it seems that Baron & Sedona are the most popular fountain pen kits, but Axminster don't do those. And I want to get the 25% off for 10 from them if I can. Plus if you order more than £50 P&P is free

Unless anyone else as a better suggestion?

They're a what now?

You only have to look at the drill sizes 37/64th which converts to 14.68mm compared with the Jn gents and the Barron 12mm they are a very nice pen for people who like a fat pen there is nothing wrong with them but you will need fat pen blanks to make them Phill see some at my place the other week and he fell in love with them they were just what he was looking for

So you prefer one of the others? Baron or Sedona?

I'm just trying to work out what would be best to get my stock up and running. Got about 20 slimlines now, made or in progress. Got 10 Sierras in basket, and I'm thinking need about 10 fountain/rollerballs and that would be a good start, what do you think?

I have never turned a sedona I am going to add some to my next order just to try them one minute I like them the next I dont so Im not sure on them most turners love them the baron is a very good kit and I do like them they are very easy to make up and both kits take the same size bushes and drills the best place to get them is Baron II Pen Kits they also do the Jn gents at a very good price $5 £2.74 each

Rob. The Axminster Executive is 5 3/4 inches in length and 3/4 of an inch across as compared to a Baron which is 5 inches long and 1/2 an inch across.
As per the photo below (hope it helps)

Very helpful, thank you

I'm preferring the Executive from that pic.

Woody: How long does stuff take to arrive from Timberbits?
