Feel for you Bob. I've done it as well and only once so far and not on a special :sob:
Some good advice given especially by Mark "drill the small drill size first"

I found the one I was thinking of and it has similarities, but the grey looks out of place. I photographed it anyway.

Possibly, Peter, but George has kindly said that he will cast some similar blanks to replace the one I messed up and he will also cast a matching 'resin only' blank that will enable me to use the pieces I have already as the cap ends of two pens whilst using the resin only blanks for the nib end.

George has come to my rescue by casting some similar hybrid blanks for me. He sent me pictures of them today and I bought three of the five he produced plus an all-resin blank to use with the two pieces I have already drilled to cap diameter. I'll be very careful not to make the same mistake when the new blanks arrive!

Meanwhile, George will have two others for sale that are both very nice. I found it hard to choose between them and three that I bought.
