Had a little play with my little metal lathe today, poor thing just sits in a corner going rusty so I give a bit of work to do.
Drilled 8mm hole in two of Alex's shell cases.

Stuck the tubes from a threaded slimline in em.

Used the chuck as a vice for the clip and put a broken file in the tailstock chuck and turned by hand moving back and forth to file out the 7mm clip.

Took the nib and cap sections down to fit diameter of the case.

I was gonna copper plate them but kinda like the colour they went as the gold plating wore back to the base copper plate while polishing so left as is.

Easy doing it with a metal lathe I hear you say.
I did this one on the wood lathe using the same process.
