Good afternoon everyone,
I believe a couple of you on here are aware that I'm currently undergoing treatment for lung cancer, bit of a long post but please read through to the end.

Around Easter last year I was given 3 - 6 months to live without treatment. I'd heard all sorts of horror stories about chemo so I told my oncologist I'd think about having chemo. He suggested I go to a support group to see how other folks suffering with the condition cope and discuss their experiences of the treatment.

Well as you may have deduced that me writing this means I'm still here and fighting. It was the support group that encouraged me to go ahead and have the treatment. So far I've had 8 cycles of 2 different chemo drugs, 33 cycles of radiotherapy and now I'm on Immunotherapy (26 cycles, one every 2 weeks) I've done 17 so far so only 9 to go.

Ok, enough about me and onto the reason for my post. My support group is the London Asbestos Support Awareness Group LASAG). A donations only charity. We meet every month to have a catch up and see how everyone's doing. We have guest speakers at each meeting nearly all from the medical side but some from other areas associated with the condition, such as physio, diet, complementary therapies etc.

In early June we're holding a fund raising day in Harlow Essex. I'm looking for anyone on here who might like to donate some time, kits, resin etc so we can sell on any pens donated. My idea is some clear cast blanks with the charity logo fitted to a sierra type pen. I've already made a bunch of pens for the day but don't have the casting facilities.

Thanks to all for taking the time to read this and if you feel you can help please pm me.

Mel.
