Very nice pen, but can I ask about finishing - is CA necessary with an acrylic blank? I've yet to try it, but was assuming it most appropriate for wood or other porous material that would not otherwise produce a completely smooth surface.

With acrylic blanks, all I do is polish them. I don't put a finish on them. My usual polishing regimen is wet sand with 320 and 400 grit wet-or-dry; wet sanding with 9 grades of MicroMesh; then use Novus 1-2-3 and/or Meguiar's PlastX. I get pretty good results that way.

My apologies - I should look more closely when I read posts in the early hours of the morning. I assumed this was an acylic blank (hence my question about finishing) but now realise it's wood. I still think it's a very nice pen and I'm going to have to add this type of laser-cut blank to my list of things to try.

Hi Roger no worries...i like these laser cut blanks there great fun...easy to stick your fingers with...and a bugger with sanding transfer if your not careful...i prefer Kallenaseen to laserlinz but give them a try....its a great way to learn patients:whistling:
