Great to meet you Keith, nice to put faces to names. Just got back from the Cheshire Game fair, and it was superb, both from a trading point of view and the general entertainment. Weather dodgy on the Saturday but fantastic on Sunday and Monday. The English Open Chainsaw Carving championships was held alongside the event and carvers had come from as far a field as Japan, Canada and throughout Europe. Saw one chainsaw in action bite into an eight foot beech log standing on its end to reveal the most beautiful pronounced flame in the centre of the beech, I cringed when I saw what he was doing to it, I had already pictured a series of platters, vases and other items, but he mashed it with a chainsaw. Never did see what he made from it.
Met Jim from the Olive Wood Turning Company who I mentioned in the posts about Southport Flower Show, he was very grateful for the business one of you had put his way by ordering 30 Olive blanks. He's decided to exhibit at Bowood House, Wiltshire in about four weeks so if there is anyone in that neck of the woods who wants any olive wood drop me a pm and I'll put you in touch.
Sold 76 pens so came away very happy.
