Now this I really like the look of.

That board is gonna be spectacular when it's done. Where did the design come from?

Please, please do lots of WIP pics as you progress will you?

Hi Phil,
I took the design from Lora S Irish, Book of Woodburning. There are enough changes that it is not a copy, but I must mention her as she gives her time/expertise freely (much like the people on this forum).

Today's pic is the mess I made trying to tie the chess pieces designs together.
I made the decision to turn the pieces using Tulipwood and Wenge.
I had to dig out the Wenge and I have enough to make a set and I only broke one blade in the bandsaw cutting the set out. :nonono:
Decisions have been made and the designs finalised, the pieces will be based on the Staunton set.
It could be a while before I get back to this but I will keep you updated.

Hi Phil,
Glad you found her site ok. I have been in touch with her and she is very approachable and friendly. Her latest in Pyro on Gourds has some promise. :thumbs:

My wife wood give me an A plus if my mess was so restrained mate like the way you approach things.
