I was across in Snainton two weeks ago and picked up a couple of pieces of olive wood. The wife wanted a new chopping block so a bit of sanding and a couple of coats of food safe mineral oil and it’s finished. No fancy woodwork I’m afraid, the beauty is in the wood.

That’s a nice run out....did you go to the open demonstration day?

Love the grain in that block

I live about 160 miles away Kevin so I don’t get across too often but whenever I’m in the area I call, it’s a great place.

Lovely board my not involve a lot but it is fit for purpose and the wife is happy.

Pens no way you would loose the figure of the grain. Some woods suit pens but some pieces you will not get the benefit from it having said that some pieces of olive will suit a pen as the figure is closer together
