One or two of you showed interest in my clocks in another thread so here are a few.
This clock is made from two bowling balls, one cut in half for the base.
The top of the base is recessed so the clock sits in it & can be rotated to any angle.
This one is not timber, it is composite plastic & was a pig to do.

This one is made from a burr, possibly Elm & is wax finished & buffed.

Zebrano skeleton clock. The base is taken from the middle of the clock.

These next two are natural edge xcut Yew & are finished in two pack pouring
which gives a high gloss mirror finish.

Hi David,
The resin is called Evirotex lite & we brought it back from Florida. You mix it 50-50, pour & spread it over your piece, You need to get rid of the bubbles by breathing over the pice so that the carbon dioxide you breath out kills the bubbles. Alternately you can pass a blow torch over the pice about 6 inches above it. You need to have your piece level as the resin is self levelling. You also need polythene on the bench as the resin will run over the edges & drip onto the bench. Do it somewhere warm & dust free for 24 hours. After it's cured you have to clean the drips off the back.
