Lovely wood again and well turned. I am looking forward to getting the chrome kits. The gold plating on the one I have is abysmal and I can see in your last photo that yours seems to have an issue on the top finial and the clip which is where mine is the most noticeable, I hope Dan will sort the gold if he decides to get some further down the line, but I wouldn't by the gold as it is now.

If i am to stock the Gold it will be the 'Gold Upgrade'. Although i can't say i notices a problem with the platings whilst they were here I take on board what you say. I have only sent out the standard gold as samples. The samples kits I have here are all 'Gold Upgrade' and look tip top. I will ask Neil to cast his eye over these and see what he thinks.

The plating is really poor Dan I have never seen one as poor and I have had pens from rizheng. Maybe the upgrade gold is much better, I hope so for your sake. It is the top finial that is the worse, but the clip is poor as well, it looks like the clip was not finished properly before plating and you can see the underlying problems on the clip.

I took my Omega to Brian's when I delivered his planer/thicknesser and I saw his chrome Omega, there was no issue with that. The way you have done that photo Dan is not a good way to show faults. If the plating is good it's good, if you photograph the finial head on it will show imperfections if they are there.
