I didn't want to hijack the other thread so I thought I would start a new.

I along with others have noticed the new types of threads sorry coming onto the market and it have left me with a few things to think about.

Do people like the new type of threads? (i do).

I don't want to fall behind the pace and I have been thinking about a mk2 for the omega.

uploadfromtaptalk1448388724288.jpg I have stolen this pic off EdStreets post, hope you don't mind.

New type on the right.

What do people think?

Threading is one topic that I really enjoy.

There are various different styles to choose from.

gent-jr-class-kits.jpg

There are a good hefty variety of 'gent jr' class kits. *note some in the back are indeed seniors*,

Here we see different threads from different manufactures. Note the quality difference in them to, the spread is HUGE.

this one is a dayacom and a cloned copy of the same kit. See the quality difference? The black one is the clone.

Here we have a dayacom george (gent jr class) in antique plating with black recess threading. Cleaver accent highlighting indeed and the signs of a VERY good plating shop. BTW, this is a very hard plating that is THICK, it's not going to be wearing off anytime soon. It is also acid etched for antique effects. The thread engagement dictates the black will never wear off over time.

TolerancesOfAcmeScrewThread.jpg

This image shows acme but any thread can use these given the proper major and minor.

The gap shown is how the deep recessed plating works and will not wear over time.

This one shows common threads.
