Well done Bob on the other thread. That looks really good and simple and very workable......

My lifter thingie arrived yesterday and, although I have'nt had much time
to play, it is much more sturdy than I thought and appears to lift the
original table without too much trouble. It needs fixing to the base
of the stand before I can give it a sensible testing.

I shall give it some more time, when time, if ever, permits, and
come back on here, a couple of days maybe, but.......looks quite promising.

Have a great weekend everyone, best wishes - Jim

Whoops, meant to add this.

If I decide I want my own table, this lifter would be a breeze
to add it to, as it has a flat top !!!!

A bit of a delay due to personal circumstances and no time at the mo,. prob
till the new year, but.....

The table thingie seems to be as solid as a rock, very easy to wind up and down with or
without the original table on it. I will however make a suitable wooden table for it when
time permits....I just detest the original table !!!!!!!

I have bought a flexible drill cable thingie which, actually is not very suitable cos it
is too thin, to connect to my variable speed drill hanging on the wall next to it in order
to wind the table up and down.
But I have two problems if anyone can help - firstly, I can't get the knob off
the thread of the new table, I've held the nut in a spanner and got mole grips round the knob
but I can't budge it..so, will I have to break it off?
And secondly, given that I can get the knob off, how can I connect the
flexible drive to it ? Me need help so, any ideas or thoughts please.

Anyway, to anyone reading this have a very Happy Xmas, a Splendid
and Prosperous New Year

very best wishes - Jim

Happy raise and lowering Jim,my worry currently is sometimes down to me simply standing, sitting, its all relative though and can be overcome by adaption. Pictures are always helpful to allow full description of individual needs. All the best for 2020,my next challenge is to fit an HDuty Tow Bar to my 4 wheel drive. The nay sayers are lined up with knotted towels at the ready.

Kind regards Peter.

Hi all, sorry for delay but things have been a bit frantic lately...

Anyway, some piccies of the lifter thingie.

I think I may be getting ahead of myelf in using a flexible drive, so,
at the moment. I would be happy to be able to take the knob off
cos I think a battery drill, attached to the threaded rod, would be quite happy
pulling itself up and down. The lifter takes very little effort to raise/lower
as the pitch of the thread is so fine.

So, I would be happy to take the knob off without having to break
it, although, that is exactly what I will do if necessary.

I hope you all have a very happy and prosperous New Year
and would be glad to hear of any ideas - thanks

Best wishes - JIm
