I have a bunch of cutoffs from a furniture factory. They are too short to make blanks cut long grain but xcut works ok. Blanks are Walnut and Cherry. I have added stained Walnut flat projects with Cherry and like the warm look so I thought why not stabilize Walnut with red colored juice. I also thought to try blue colored juice. In my opinion the Walnut was a flop. Wife likes the red one but I don't think its enough of a contrast to make the effort worth while. If you look close you can just see a hint of color in both the red and blue blanks.
The Cherry on the other hand surprised me. I didn't expect the results I got. I definitely like the red better than blue. Wife thinks both are great. Guess the next step is to turn a couple pens and evaluate further.
What say you all?
