Here's one for Grump init? :winking:

This is my first Knurl GT pen, in gun metal. I turned it from Thailand rosewood. The finish is my first oil finish, with one coat of BLO, and three coats of Watco Danish Oil. I love the hand rubbed look of it. I'll be using Danish Oil more often. I like this kit, it makes a substantial, well balanced pen. It's a little on the heavy side, but I like that. Surprisingly, the clip is solid, not stamped.

I didn't mix the two oils on purpose init? Actually, I put the first coat of BLO on it to darken and bring out the grain, and then I had planned on using spray lacquer. But I liked the look so much, I posted on here about the viability of using only BLO as a finish. I was informed by several people that Danish oil would give a similar look, but be much more durable. So after the first coat of BLO, I went out and bought the Danish oil, and applied several coats. There you have it!

Satisfactorily explained init?
Sounds a bit like Plonker moments to me but there ya go.
I am not sure that Danish oil will last any longer on a handled piece but we all have our own experiments to carry out dunwee?
I admit I am a fan of any oil as long as it's applied regularly it will give a good finish and feels goodly too.

I got it from PSI. It's available in four different finishes. I also bought one in antique brass, but haven't turned it yet.

When I was a kid, the Scripto mechanical pencils were very popular. I remember having one like this in blue.

Who doesn't like to experiment init? In addition to the look, I also love the feel. The oil gives it a different feel than a CA or lacquer finish would. It's hard to explain. It has a smooth feel to it, but it's somehow... different.

And I'll admit, I have a lot of plonker moments!

Really like that one, like the kit too. If all the kits looked the same it would be boring.

Nice one
