Been asked by my sister for a footstool with storage so I got on with the legs. Not perfect match but close enough, I should imagine that with practice I could get things like this a little close as i am so use to doing one off's.

Now to make the rest of it I have already prepared the wood for the box section, luckily I will not be doing the lid and cushion part she is doing that.

Thank you guys.

Thought I may as well post the progress of the stool I have the side panels made and a quadrant but that will only be used if that route is the one my sister wants.
As can be seen I have allowed for two different options my preference is the one with the quadrant this has two purposes one as a decorative piece and two because the panel sit back it will give a fixing point for hinges

Since my last post I did not get anything done on the stool but have managed to do a little today and hopefully get some done tomorrow.

So onto today's work. Panels all cut and a dry fitted. Need to cut a bottom panel tomorrow before starting the glue up.

Excellent results Derek, I will keep this design in mind (if you don't mind).

Not at all Don, this is for my sister and she asked for a stool with a little storage area I just came up with a basic design and went from there

Thanks Derek,
Just as a matter of interest my wife had to attend hospital this morning and the physio recommended buying a little stool to help with her ailment, so I will start this project as soon as. Thanks again.

take care

All glued up with the bottom fitted. next job before any finish is the start of the top as I will not be doing the padded seat/top.

It still needs a good final sanding

Thank you guys.

Done a little more today but spent time first setting my chop saw up as the settings seemed to be a little out just enough to throw the cut out.
Once the saw was cutting square I could then cut the 45deg corners.
The Oak rim is the first part of the top there will be a board on top of that which the seat will be fixed.
I have clamped the pieces in place to aid in getting everything lined up as it need to over lap by 1/8" all round. it may not be the correct way to do it but then I am not a fine furniture maker and it works for me.

First picture with just two pieces in place and the last with all of them in place ready to glue together.
