Mesdames et Messieurs, Ladies and Gentlemen,
Maybe it's time to show you some of my pens, fresh from the lathe.
These are based on Jr Gent II roller and fountain kits, but I dislike centre bands, so I did not show them.
Because I am not found of finials, I did as usually, I throw them straight away.
And as I don't love end caps neither, I don't think I should have mercy and I binned them.
About the clips, well... I don't absolutely hate them, I even find they can be useful once in a while. But sometimes they are not, except to avoid the pen to roll on the desk top. So I left them in the drawer and I added a mother-of-pearl cabochon, it does the same and I find it more elegant. One is pink, the other is golden to fit the wood, on a little ebony base.
In case you ask, I did use the nibs and refills.
So, here are two cigar-shaped pens, one made of a beautiful wavy kingwood (wood of kings, king of woods!) only polished and oiled, and the other is amboyna burl with some sapwood and a CA finish.
Critics will help me to do better and are very welcome.
Please excuse my English!
