A lovely piece of wood that has more holes than the Tory Immigration policy that were a bit tricky to fill but I got there in the end.

Terry the Chairman gave me the wood and its dressed in a Concava kit.

Spot on, Paul! You and Mr Chairman Sir are the only two I've seen able to get to grips that stuff - it has more in common with Swiss Cheese than wood.

That looks good Paul, I have some of this wood or should that be I have some of this hole.
There is more hole than wood and I often look at it and wonder if it's worth the effort and what to fill it with.
If I thought it would be as nice as this I might have a pop at it.

Unfortunately I can't remember, Woody will know, he's the one who put me onto them and I need some more now. They are classy kits, very nice with a sprung clip.

I just filled the holes with the Shavings Brian and then filled the next holes with shavings... and then the next holes.......

Very nicely done.
I don't know that wood, but for me, when I run into some hole-ee wood
I turn down to about 1/32'' or so larger than finished size
and sand with medium ca and 80 grit paper.
Forms a slurry. Just keep sanding untill the ca dries. Fills in the voids nicely.
You can then turn a little more or do your normal sanding. Repeat if necessary.
Works for me. YMMV

Thats how I would do it normally Angelo but this has some large holes that need filling first.

Angelou,

Goldfield burrs are a bit like the UKs Summit Wood! Goldfield is an area in Australia in the south of Western Australia ( I think), any wood that is unable to be positively identified is deemed a goldfield burr. Some of it can be solid, some a waste of effort, some beautiful and some bland
