Nope for TB I'm afraid (that's what prompted my question about triv chrome)

Peter, its a plating I'm very familiar with, having worked my way through 100 of them in the last few months. Its just that I need some more, and when importing from America, as I did with the last ones, UK customs show no mercy. That's why I'd love to find another source.

Don't forget we are in the UK Ed, we would still have the same import issues:devil:

The only ones I know of it Vincent ar turners workshop has the gun metal standard sierra but not the elegant.

I don't believe you would get the Elegant in the UK. If it its it's the UK it's been imported, so you may as well do it yourself.

it all depends on the quality you want Phil, ? Xiamen may do them, not checked but you will still have import to deal with.

Mark - if they're a gift then life is cheaper when it comes to customs. However 100 plus pen kits is likely to arouse suspicion. Its a bit like a child trying to hide a ciggy behind its back when you can plainly see and smell the smoke. It would just entitle me to have ALL my parcels inspected by customs for all of eternity.

Thanks for the Ace link Ed. I've had a look, but no obvious gunmetal. I may contact them and ask the question.

AS for importing, is there some countries that's easier than others to import from? Sadly I am not familiar with import laws into the UK but I know from the US side it's brutal to ship there, but doable. It almost seems like they do not want you to import items but from an economic standpoint by not importing items you starve yourself of options, also heavy import restrictions like that dulls commerce significantly.

How do you go if they are sent as a gift?

If you are caught then you go to jail for smuggling and/or revenue fraud.

[rant]If you don't pay your taxes then the rest of us just pay more. It is not a victimless crime it is a crime against every honest person who pays tax.[/rant]

I hate paying taxes too,but I hate tax avoidance even more.

If you think VAT on imports is wrong then vote for a party who will change the law.

No, I am not that Ed. Many often make that mistake for some reason.

This is a photo of gunmetal, the middle is all stainless with no plating on it.

Opportune moment:rolling:

TBH Phil Whatever method you take the import taxes would have to be paid by you or the person you buy of in the UK. Then they would no doubt add a bit more as it takes time to import, organise and put them up for sale. So in all honesty import your own and control the products you want.

Remember there is NO UK pen parts manufacturer that makes the parts in the UK, so import we must.

That is where the problem is.. UK manufacturing.:nonono: I won't start especially today.

Just a pointer for all forum members....
Remember that the ownership is on the person importing the goods to ensure that the correct duty is paid, (not the person sending them too you) if anyone hasn't done that then anyone bragging about getting away with paying import taxes could be open for prosecution..:nonono:::

Thanks guys for all your input. I'm very familiar with the concept of paying duties as I import all the time. And yes, I do pay my way. However - if I buy a Chinese or Taiwanese product from America, I am effectively paying duty twice. Once for the American dealer to import and put a markup on, and once to bring it from America to the UK. That's why I wondered if they were already available in the UK. If I could find a manufacturer I would have no hesitation in bringing them in for my own use myself, but unfortunately I cannot, and I would prefer to support a British suppler rather than Exotic Blanks in America, who it seems to me are only very nice to you when you are paying them money.

Yes please Dan - hurry up. I look forward to the Omicron or the Gamma with bated breath. I know you have the similar looking Zeta, but on this occasion it is definitely elegant sierras I need. Oh well, back to exotic blanks I suppose.

Then the only clear cut solution would be enlist a machine shop to make parts to your design and specification, in bulk, for sale to the community.
