Very nice pens Vic.
I love the pen tubes from Vince. I bought a few lengths it's a shame the sizes available is limited.

Like the patterned kitchen role, that's what it is isn't it? Not bog roll I trust :whistling:

Yes I have had a fair bit of stuff from Vince and have been well pleased with it. The Vintage Pen Rod is really nice stuff and as you say it's a pity about the size limitations. The ones shown were brought as a job lot of 5 kits including the Sierra pens.

Vince did say that the rod would need reaming out to take the 10mm Sierra tubes. When I measured them they were a tight fit for the Lucidas at 9mm tubes. I just put the brass tubes in the freezer for a bit and soaked the rods in boiling water for a few mins, a bit of glue and they married perfectly.

Sorry Woody it must have been me ! I don't really buy pen stuff of the bay but having dealt with Vince in the past and used quite a bit of this Vintage Rod I thought it was worth a punt.

I'm lucky enough to live within easy reach so when I bought mine I rootled through loads of it to choose and bought full lengths. (Didn't dare tell the missus how much I spent).
Vince is a genuine straightforward guy and it's a pleasure to deal with him.

It's certainly expensive I brought quite a few bits of him when he first started selling it but I paid no where near the initial asking price.

I also brought a load of acrylic blanks off him and he did me a great deal on them. His pens work out quite cheap enough if you go for a bulk buy and everything that I have had off him has been top quality stuff.

Just wished I lived a bit closer to him as I would love to have a root around.

Yes I was going to bid on them - But someone paid well over the odds for them OOPS:devil:

Do you really think so ? £31 for 5 complete pen kits. The vintage pen rod sells exceptionally well as it comes with certificates of authenticity.

These have been made up for Special Christmas Gift Craft Show in November. If I don't get £20 to £25 per pen I will be really disappointed.

They take about 10 mins to make as the rod is pre drilled and very little turning to be done !

£70 to £95 profit for an hours work !

If they don't sell I have quite a few Friends & Relatives who would love one for a Christmas Present.

5 Christmas Gifts for £31 BARGAIN !

Are you sure ? Vince always puts a certificate in with these vintage rods. I just photocopy it and put it in with the pen.

Vic

Just had another look and no certificate. What do they certificate?
