If you went to the naval dockyards they sometimes sell ex warship timber eg I got a chunk from HMS Nelson when they were doing some refurbishment but that’s Oak and very well seasoned. As Peter said if the recipient likes it jobs well done. If they do and you don’t that’s more trickey but did yo7 enjoy making it? If so , result !
