I use CA or friction polish and Microcrystalline wax on pens. Food safe finish, or oil on bowls (friction polish on some small bowls)

Sorry I offended you.

When I say "My Method " this dose not mean I claim to have been the first the use this method, it means that is this the way I finish my pen blanks. :redface-new:

Thanks for posting the pdf Les, it is interesting to see other people's methods. Looks like a viable finish for pens and you seem to get great results, but the OP was asking for a finish for bowls. :nooidea:

For bowls I use a wax finish over sanding sealer, but there are many other perfectly good finishes.

Thanks for the comment.
Actually the OP was asking about pen finishing.
OP Quote "Just wondering how you all decode on the final finish for your pens."

So he was Les, my mistake, but in my defence (or defense as you guys would have it) he was asking about bowls too:

I know that I have to work on this with my bowls etc because I think I have spoilt some of them with my choice of finish.............so any tips would be great.

No he wasn't... You been having a plonker moment..:ave_it:

I blame my eyesight Eamon, I am off to the opticians tomorrow. :goesred:

go to the pound shop & buy their superglue to practise with. You don't need the expensive stuff for when you get better either.

But be warned, it can be hazardous to your health without proper ventilation and a safer way is buy a can of lacquer & use that instead

just beware that ca fumes are very toxic so proper organic filters are needed.
