Paul, prior to turning the whiskey barrel pens, clean up the workshop floor an d around the lathe..
When you have turned them, clean up the shavings, save them till we have some sun... Put the coal fired barbe on, soak the shavings in 300mm (about a pint to me and you) for around half an hour.
Drain the shavings and then throw the damp shavings on the nice hot coals.. then put you steak on the smokey fire... Stunning steak mate.. honest.
For the best taste you need one of those kettle babe so you can shut the lid down..
If there was anyhing that came good out of that membership then that was it..![]()
After turning staves the smell is encased I have found the French wine cask timber fine in grain and a wonderful result.
