I understand how you feel, I was working up your way last year and the company put me in a cheap hotel in a nice area of Liverpool.
I wanted a smoke screen to hide behind as soon as I pulled up in the car park.
Sign on the wall "EMPTY YOUR VEHICLE OR IT WILL BE EMPTIED FOR YOU".
Receptionist was a big burly security guard sitting behind bullet proof glass.
Later I asked where can I get a beer around here, "we used to have a pub but it got burned down in the riots and hasn't been rebuilt".
I won't bore you with much more of my stay, suffice to say even the most outgoing personality would be reduced to a jabbering wreck after a short stay of their hospitality init?

Thanks for all the replies, I think I know my main problem and find it hard to accept.
Since my illness which I had many years ago mentioned in another thread my confidence in speaking face to face to people has taken a bashing, I am ok on the Telephone on Web site forums and on ebay. but face to face forget it. I wish I could turn the clocks back but I can't so I hide behind a smokescreen. Anyway that's enough of my self pity. I will take all your comments on board and do the best I can.

Don't know how far you are from Tabley show ground near knits ford I am exhibiting there this coming Sat, Sun and Monday and would be more than happy to show you round my stand. I think Yorkshireman (Keith) is planning to visit the show which is a large game and country show. If you want to come along I'll get you in free as stand staff and I guarantee well have a bit of a laugh because the show is very laid back. It is also the home of the British open chainsaw carving championship and there will be 26 top carvers exhibiting. Pm me if you're interested.
